A TEENAGE athlete won the Taunton Triathlon over the bank holiday weekend.
Millfield School student Tom Webb, aged 15, from Bishop's Hull, crossed the finish line in one hour and 34 seconds, with an almost five-minute lead in the race on Saturday (May 27).
The course consisted of a 400-metre swim, 21km bike course and a 5.7km run.
It started and finished at Taunton School and attracted 133 competitors.
The event was organised by RaceNation.
Tom is competing in the British Triathlon Super Series for the first time this year, with competitions across the country, as a South West Triathlon Academy athlete.
A talented runner, during the last two weeks Tom became 1500m champion at the Somerset County Championship in all age categories at Yeovil.
He is also representing Great Britain in Germany in June at the European Biathle Championships, for which he is the reigning U15 champion.
